Crossett, Inc began in 1928, when William F. Crossett started providing transport service with a single unit that consisted of a 780 gallon tank attached to a Model T Ford truck chassis.
The second truck that was utilized had a 1760 gallon tank of the new “frameless” aluminum construction, which was manufactured locally in Warren, PA. This was the first unit of its kind and was just the start of Crossett’s involvement as an innovator in the tank truck industry.
Robert W. Holder, the second owner, and Mahlon Burgett, conceived the idea of the “double conical elliptical” tank trailer. They worked with local companies, Pennco, Alleghany Valve Co. and Betts Industries, to bring this idea into development.
R. William Holder, third owner of Crossett, Inc., continued the innovation by computerizing the business process which brought about many work efficiencies.
Current owners, Alex Keddie and Janet Gregory have extended this innovation through a process which involves all employees to identify and resolve business issues, through the utilization of business teams at each location. Employees support this process for, as an ESOP company, they are also owners of Crossett, Inc.
